Risport Figure Skating Boots Care & Maintenance Guide

To maximize the lifespan of your Risport Electra Light figure skates, proper care and maintenance are essential. Most Risport boots are crafted from high-quality leather or microfibre with water-repellent treatments, helping protect them during regular use. However, routine cleaning and drying will keep your figure skating boots performing at their best.

🧼 Daily Care for Figure Skates

After every skating session:

  • Dry your figure skates thoroughly inside and out using a soft cloth or chamois
  • Remove excess moisture to prevent damage and maintain boot structure
  • Wipe down blades so they don't rust

🌬️ Proper Drying Technique

  • Loosen the laces completely
  • Pull the tongue forward to open the boot fully
  • Allow boots to air dry at room temperature in a well-ventilated area

⚠️ Avoid placing your skates near direct heat sources such as fireplaces, heaters, or radiators. Excess heat can damage the leather, adhesives, and internal support structure of your figure skating boots.

🧽 Cleaning Your Skates

  • Clean your boots using water and a mild, neutral soap
  • Gently wipe with a soft cloth

❌ Avoid abrasive or harsh cleaning products, as they can damage the finish and materials of your boots

📦 Storage Tips

  • Store your figure skates in a cool, dry place
  • Keep them away from direct sunlight to prevent material breakdown and discolouration

💡 Pro Tip for Skaters in Canada
